Construção de valores socioambientais a partir dos quadrinhos: uma proposta de educação ambiental

Abstract

This paper presents an alternative for the integration of Environmental Education in the school context. There are many obstacles presented so that one can, in fact, construct socioenvironmental thinking with students. In this way, this research produced a comic book to assist in this process of Environmental Education, however, without giving up the Science curricular referential of the city of Campo Grande - MS. The main objective of the pedagogical instrument that has been developed is to take the initial step so that the students can develop a reflective thought about possible environmental problems that they may encounter in the future. The methodological framework used for the production of the material and construction of socioenvironmental thinking was David Ausubel's theory of meaningful learning. Based on observations made in a stream and a river of the city and a survey of the previous ideas of the students of the 6th grade of elementary school, the Municipal School Prof.ª Marina Couto Fortes was created the script and the characters of the comics. After reading the history with the students, two activities were requested to verify if there was in fact a socio-environmental construction with the participants of the research: a questionnaire and a collaborative activity. There has been a considerable change in students' anchoring ideas, moving to what is interesting in the environmental field. It should be noted, however, that the Socio-environmental Education process is long and continuous and what was done serves to present an alternative to facilitate this process. In this case, the material was relevant for the insertion of this theme in the school context.
