Ensino por investigação nas aulas de ciências: conhecendo as serpentes

Abstract

The key to valuing stigmatized species, such as snakes, is linked to the dissemination of scientific knowledge in a clear manner about the role played by the group within ecosystems and its relationship with the human species. The objective of this study was to promote active educational practices through the inquiry-based teaching method in science classes at a state school in the municipality of Bodoquena. The activities were developed based on the question/problem: “What would happen if snakes disappeared?” The use of the inquiry sequence proved to be efficient in promoting scientific literacy and satisfactory in enabling students to take part in all stages of the activity developed.
