Abstract

We believe that venturing into the history of deaf education requires more than the simple repetition of a hegemonic narrative. Considering and understanding history as an invented and inventive diegesis, we propose to think and write starting from the experience, and not from established truths. In this way, the textual body cataloged includes guest essays for a different approach to the past, the already distant, but also the not-so-distant past of the history of deaf education. We seek to think of different ways of narrating the past, understanding that sometimes language obeys, but sometimes it does not, and disobeying is an art that enables the existence of philosophy, love and the world itself. We are, here, disobeying and producing the possible existence of new perspectives. We do not intend to establish new rules and norms for this type of research, but, in a joking and mocking way, to problematize some questions that, generally, cross the procedures around these documental researches. Therefore, our choice to rehearse history with an unbridled, freedom (may ABNT forgive us), but we hope and wish that reading this package of essays provokes mocking smiles about what we have done – and can do about the past.
