Abstract

: The main objective of this work is to analyze the transformations in the landscape and economy over time through the analysis of land use and land cover maps. The study emphasizes the relevance of remote sensing and geotechnologies over a period of three decades. The study quantifies, tabulates, and generates graphs for data related to the areas occupied by the analyzed thematic classes, including forested areas, savannas, pasturelands, temporary crops, and urbanized areas. The methodology involved the interpretation and classification of satellite images from the period 1990 to 2021, using QGIS geoprocessing software. The results reveal significant transformations. Pasture and agricultural areas have expanded, with a particular emphasis on the growth of soybean production. Forested areas have decreased, highlighting the complexity of changes in land use and land cover over time.
