Qualidade de silagens de DDG com diferentes níveis de reidratação e utilização de inoculante

Abstract

Corn Dried Distillers Grains (DDG) are one of the possible by-products of corn ethanol and stand out as an ingredient in animal feeding. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of different water contents on the bromatological/chemical characteristics of corn DDG after the ensiling process over a period of 90 days, without or with the use of inoculant. Eight treatments were evaluated: addition of 0 (control), 30, 40 or 50% of water in the mass of DDG to be ensiled, without or with the use of inoculant. The pH and the levels of crude protein, mineral matter, neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber and hemicellulose were evaluated. It was found that the ensiling process promoted a reduction in pH values, acid detergent fiber and minerals and an increase in neutral detergent fiber, hemicellulose and protein levels, depending on the water content. Finally, treatments with 30 and 40% of water and the use of inoculant showed the best bromatological results, being the most recommended for animal feed
