A sabedoria do povo da Aldeia Lalima: 1ª fase

Abstract

The completion of this book called The Wisdom of the People of Aldeia Lalima, is the result of the desire and demands of indigenous leaders and teachers, who in recent years have requested the creation of their own teaching material for their schools. This work was designed, analyzed and developed through research by literacy teachers at Aldeia Lalima T.I. Lalima, where students from the initial grades, elders and residents of the community were involved, through the Indigenous Knowledge Action at School. The teaching material began through meetings, meetings and workshops between literacy teachers for its development, elaboration and organization, with the objective, in addition to recording and systematizing traditional local indigenous knowledge, to ensure that indigenous students are literate within their perspective and life context. Didactic support material is intended for students in the Initial Years (1st Phase) of Elementary Education at Terena indigenous schools in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The book is presented in four main themes: it highlights the importance of fish for the local people; covers a brief history and geographical location of the village; provides an explanation of the construction of housing, festivals and medicinal herbs; emphasizes the diversity of the village's fauna and flora and, finally, highlights the natural resources and hydrography of the territory. The material was organized, first with texts and photos and, later, interpretation activities were proposed to be developed by the students. However, the dedication of teachers and students will be essential for the objectives to be achieved.
