O CONHECIMENTO TRADICIONAL APLICADO A PRÁTICAS AGROECOLÓGICAS E SUA PROTEÇÃO COMO PATRIMÔNIO CULTURAL.

Abstract

The general objective of this work is to analyze the legal protection of traditional knowledge related to sustainable forms of food production, in order to, through their use, point out the viability of environmental conditions suitable for society and the environment. For this purpose, specifically, the route consists of: a) examining in detail the normative set on cultural heritage, specifically with regard to traditional knowledge; b) to determine the relevance of knowledge applied to agroecological practices as a tool to encourage socio-environmental protection and biodiversity; and, finally, c) identify limits of legal protection and its relationship with the monoculture inherent to the prevailing economic system. In carrying out the research, whose objective is exploratory, the logical method adopted was the deductive, with a qualitative approach and bibliographic and documental procedure, forming a methodological set sufficient to obtain the results. As a result, it was observed that the body of current norms is extremely limited in terms of protecting traditional environmental knowledge on the production of healthy foods, and the greatest obstacles found relate to the very difficulty of identifying the source of knowledge, as well as the devaluation traditional knowledge. In addition, there is also a systemic lack of concern with the need to adopt agroecological and sustainable practices for food production. Thus, it was concluded that the resolution of the problem presented permeates the field of identification of traditional knowledge, normative specifications and effective patrimonial and cultural protection of these and, jointly, commitment to sustainability in the cultivation and ecological management of the land.
