Abstract
(Contribution to the taxonomy of Lauraceae in Centro-oeste, Brazil: Flora of Distrito
Federal and Mato Grosso do Sul). We present here two taxonomic studies for species of
Lauraceae occurring in two federative units of Brazil: Mato Grosso do Sul (MS) and
Federal District (DF). We recognize 29 species in the MS and 21 species in the DF, with
Nectandra and Ocotea the most diverse genera in the two federation units. Thirteen
species typical of the phytogeographic domain of the Cerrado and its riparian forests:
Aiouea trinervis, Aniba heringeri, Cassytha filiformis, Endlicheria paniculata, Nectandra
cissiflora, N. cuspidata, N. gardneri, N. hihua, Ocotea aciphylla, O. corymbosa, O.
lancifolia, O. minarum e O. velloziana occur both Federal District and Mato Grosso do
Sul. We provide identification keys for genera and species, morphological descriptions,
geographic distribution data, ecology data, phenological aspects, taxonomic co mments
and boards containing Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) images, field and specimen
images.
