EDUCAÇÃO PÚBLICA PRIMÁRIA NO SUL DE MATO GROSSO: EM FOCO O MUNICÍPIO DE AQUIDAUANA/MS (1920-1950)

Abstract

The present dissertation is inserted in the Research Line, History, Politics and Education of Master‘s Degree in Education of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, and is part of the Research Project entitled "Public education: creation and expansion of school institutions of primary education and teacher training in southern Mato Grosso (1920-1970), "the research aimed to understand the historical movement and analyze the multiple determinations (social, political and economic) that permeated the creation and expansion of institutions of primary education in Brazil in its totality to understand the uniqueness of the municipality of Aquidauana /MT between the years 1920 to 1950. It was analysed the issues related to the primary public education offered at the time and the expansion of school institutions in the south of Mato Grosso, as well as to identify the political and social intention in which the Primary Public school Antônio Corrêa, the primary focus of our research, has been consolidated, and finally, the public policies for primary education instituted. For this the procedures used were the following: a) bibliographic study that could contribute with the analysis of the theme; b) collection and systematization of documentary sources, such as legal norms, regulations and decrees on the subject. The results indicate that even though Aquidauana has not undergone the same economic phenomenon as the great center of capital, it can not be understood outside this movement, since the expansion of its economic activities were fundamental for the expansion and consolidation of primary education institutions in the city, the creation of the Educational Group Antônio Corrêa was also granted to adapt the demands of the time and to bring progress to the municipality, as the leaders of that period wanted.
