Abstract

Volume IX of the series The Sciences of the Lexicon gathers scientific articles resulting from research projects developed by researchers working in the field of lexical studies in Postgraduate Programs in Linguistics at different Brazilian universities. The work is divided into three parts - Lexicology, Lexicography and Terminology - in order to house the articles that make up the work. Studies focus on the word as a term in different contexts of specialty; as a proper name in studies on anthroponyms and toponyms; as phraseologies; as regionalisms, in addition to the study of the word through a diachronic bias based on texts produced in past synchrony of the history of the language and of the word in the dictionary approached from the perspective of its production and its history.
