Abstract

The Water Producer Program (PPA) is an initiative of the National Water Agency and aims to maintain strategic stocks through the Payment for Environmental Services (PES). It consists on the landowner receiving grant from the program to deploy on their land conservation practices that will contribute to the reduction of erosion, which will assist on conservation of the existing water course in his/her property. In Campo Grande, MS, Programa Manancial Vivo was created and aimed to work with the Stream Guariroba region, which is responsible for over 50% of the raw water used for public supply of the capital. The stream is located inside the Environmental Protection Area (EPA) of Guariroba, where the Guariroba Dam is located and also where capture of raw water for treatment is made. The study's aim was to analyze the influence of the implementation of the PPA on the quality of the reservoir water, check the correlation between the parameters analyzed and seasonal influence.
