Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) em seus alicerces: acontecimentos, institucionalidades e discursos (1962-1979)

Abstract

A presente tese analisa os discursos sobre a emergência e consolidação da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), no período de 1962 até o ano em que foi federalizada em 1979. Nosso corpus se constitui de obras memorialísticas, arquivos, relatórios, atas de registros, jornais e históricos escolares sobre a fundação da referida universidade, textos-objeto de análise de discurso arqueológico, com a finalidade de apreender as práticas discursivas, historicamente constituídas, ligadas no contexto de sua emergência. Problematizando a escrita da historiografia tradicional, em sua pretensão de cientificidade, abordamos os discursos enquanto práticas no interior de uma batalha pela constituição da memória e da história. Assim, as práticas não discursivas são integradas no campo de estudo arqueológico, que inclui, além dos arquivos, a história da instituição, de seus agentes, bem como do contexto social e político, contribuindo para o entendimento das condições de emergência da Universidade e o ensino público superior em Mato Grosso e em Mato Grosso do Sul, em suas múltiplas relações com os poderes estabelecidos. Nossa hipótese geral é a de que a emergência da referida instituição de ensino está diretamente relacionada a partir do consórcio entre interesses das elites campo-grandenses e das classes médias, bem como aos interesses dos governos – no nível local, nacional e internacional, em um contexto de convulsão social, internamente, e de Guerra Fria, no plano internacional – respaldados na relação, estabelecida na cultura ocidental, entre saber e poder, colocando a disposição os sujeitos nas diferentes formas de compreensão de suas atuações.

ABSTRACT - This thesis analyzes the discourses about the emergence and consolidation of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), in the period from 1962 until the year in which it was federalized in 1979. Our corpus is made up of memorialistic documents, files, reports, acts of meetings, journals and transcripts about the foundation of the university, object-texts of archeological discourse analysis, for the purpose of apprehending the discursive practices, historically constituted, linked in the context of its emergence. Questioning the traditional historiography, writing under the claim of scientific theories, we cover speeches taken on as practices within a battle for the constitution of the memory and the history. Thus, the discursive practices are integrated in the field of archaeological studies, which include, in addition to the archives, the history of the institution, its agents, as well as the social and political context, which contributed to the understanding of the conditions for the emergence of the University and for the higher public education in the States of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, in their multiple relations with established powers. Our general hypothesis is that the emergence of this institution of higher education is directly related to a consortium of interests of the elite and middle classes in the city of Campo Grande, as well as in the interests of the local, national and international government levels, during an internal social convulsion context, and the International Cold War, – backed by the relationship established by western culture, between knowledge and power, showing the subject in the different forms of understanding and resulting actions.
