FIgueirão Rupestre. Integrando paisagem e cultura.

Abstract

The cultural landscape constitutes a fundamental category for understanding the relationships between nature and culture within the territory. This work analyzes the cultural landscape of the municipality of Figueirão, located in the northern region of Mato Grosso do Sul, as a synthesis of the relationships between the physical environment, social dynamics, and archaeological heritage. The analysis of points of interest that narrate the history of the place's formation and connect to broader processes provides the foundation for proposing new uses for the territory. The general objective is to propose a direction for the economic development of the municipality of Figueirão, reconciled with the values of its landscape, through multi-scale planning and design guidelines. The monograph is structured in six chapters that cover from the theoretical foundation, the characterization of the landscape of Mato Grosso do Sul and especially the northern region of the state, the diagnosis of the municipality, and case studies, to the proposals and final considerations. The work contributes to the scientific knowledge of cultural landscapes in the Central-West region and offers a technical framework for public policies that consider local specificities.
