A comunidade árabe: estudo da variação lingüística

Abstract

Este estudo tem como objetivo mostrar como os indivíduos da comunidade árabe transitam entre o mundo árabe e brasileiro, detalhando quais os fenômenos lingüísticos de ordem fonética e morfossintática são mais ocorrentes na comunidade de fala e quais foram os fatores extralingüísticos que influenciaram a aplicação da regra variável. O arcabouço teórico que sustenta a pesquisa está centrado na Teoria da Variação de orientação laboviana. O córpus da pesquisa foi composto por dezesseis informantes divididos nas seguintes células sociais: sexo: masculino e feminino, faixa etária: abaixo de 30 anos e superior a 50 anos; escolaridade: fundamental, médio e superior; Os dados foram transcritos conforme os recursos do Projeto NURC/SÃO PAULO de forma quantitativa de acordo com o pacote de programas GOLDVARB/2001. A interpretação dos dados comprovou que a aplicação da regra variável, resultante do cruzamento dos fatores lingüísticos e extralingüísticos aponta para a afirmação que as 1.278 ocorrências analisadas indicam que houve apenas variação na língua dos falantes da comunidade árabe, o que pode vir ou não a acarretar em mudança lingüística.

The research study has as main purpose the presentation of how the individuals of the Arabian community of move between the Arabian and the Brazilian world, detailing which linguistic phenomena of the phonetic and the morphosyntactic sort are the most current among the speaking community as well as which are the linguistic factors that that has the biggest influence in the application of the changeable rule. The theoretical frame that sustain the research is centered in the Theory of Variation from the laboviana orientation. The corpus of the research has been composed by sixteen informers separated into the following social criteria: gender (male and female); age(under 30 years old and over 50 years old); scholarship (elementary school, high school and college or university). The data have been written out according to resources of the NURC/SÃO PAULO Project. The gathered data have been quantitatively analyzed according to the GOLDVARB/2001 programs package. The interpretation of this research data has vouched that the application of the changeable rule, resulting from a crossing of linguistic and extralinguistic factors, lead to the affirmation that the 1.278 analyzed occurrences indicate that changes have been occurring just among the speakers of the Arabian community, which may bring about or not some linguistic changes.
