Abstract
The present work describes a research that sought to identify how the development of an Interdisciplinary Rationality Island (IRI) on pollution, in the 1 year of high school, of a state public school in the city of Campo Grande, MS, can contribute to the development of competences for the interdisciplinary construction of knowledge. Therefore, this work was developed from the perspective of providing students with skills development for interdisciplinary construction, observing the need to make scientific content meaningful to students as well as useful for their lives. To methodologically support this work, in the field of interdisciplinarity, the approach proposed by Gérard Fourez, which is the construction of interdisciplinary, was used. The core of the proposed strategy is the idea that interdisciplinary training can only be done through the development of an interdisciplinary project. This research proposed the theme “Pollution” for interdisciplinary development, developed over 10 classes. In which only one data collection instrument was used: the making of banners, finally, the material produced by the students at the end generated 8 banners. To analyze the development and evolution of the participants of this research during and after the IRI construction, proposed by analyzing the student banners. We conclude that the students involved in this work were able to demonstrate the concepts of interdisciplinarity during the construction of the island of interdisciplinary rationality (IRI).
