Abstract
The Tutorial Education Program, dating from 1979, consists of one of the longest-running federal programs aimed at expanding and qualifying undergraduate training. In Brazil there are 842 consolidated groups, including groups linked to undergraduate academic training in Physical Education. With the purpose of recording and socializing experiences developed by groups related to Physical Education linked to PET, the idea was to capture chapters with relevant contributions on the theme and publish the work “Tutorial Education Program – successful extension practices in Physical Education”. Groups linked to the program implemented in Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) were invited, resulting in a work composed of 10 chapters, the first of which is the introduction. The 9 specific chapters on successful extension actions bring contributions from the PET Physical Education groups at the State University of Campinas, State University of Maringá, Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, Federal University of Minas Gerais, University Federal University of Paraná, Federal University of Santa Maria, Federal University of São Paulo, Federal University of Uberaba.
