Abstract

This article aims to analyze the practice of sharenting, mainly in its commercial aspect, which consists of overexposure of the image and personal data of children and adolescents for profit on the Internet. Based on the exposure of risks to the physical and psychological development of children, the study aims to examine the current system of protection for children and adolescents established by the Brazilian legal system, as well as the applicable parameters for possible liability of parents in the event of the configuration of commercial child exploitation. Through the deductive methodology and the literature review technique, the study addresses the challenge of enforcing children's and adolescents' rights in the digital world in view of the lack of specific regulation on the activity developed by young digital influencers. In this regard, there is a need to use the dialogue of normative sources, based on the doctrine of comprehensive protection, to realize the rights of children and adolescents on the Internet and the civil liability of those legally responsible for commercial sharenting.
