O fracasso escolar na 5ª série do Ensino fundamental em matemática de uma escola da Rede Municipal de Ensino de Campo Grande, MS

Abstract

A presente pesquisa busca responder questões ligadas ao fracasso escolar do ensino e da aprendizagem da disciplina de Matemática na 5ª série do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola Municipal da Rede Pública de Ensino de Campo Grande/MS. O objetivo central deste estudo é identificar, analisar e diagnosticar o fracasso escolar que ocorre na 5ª série na disciplina de Matemática. O desenvolvimento do estudo se deu através da Metodologia qualitativa. Coletamos os dados através da observação da escola e por meio de entrevistas com os segmentos que fazem parte da equipe pedagógica, professores de Matemática, pais ou responsáveis e alunos repetentes da 5ª série que estudam na escola pesquisada. Ao longo da pesquisa procuramos responder aos seguintes questionamentos: o que está gerando um grande índice de reprovação na disciplina de Matemática na 5ª série? De que forma o conteúdo matemático, o contexto escolar, a família e a realidade social e cultural contribuem para que ocorra o fracasso escolar nesta disciplina? Utilizamos pesquisadores da História da Matemática, Educação Matemática e Psicologia como referencial teórico para esta pesquisa. A falta de pré-requisitos dos alunos que chegam na 5ª série, a baixa autoestima, a ruptura que existe nessa série, o aspecto cultural, psicológico, os problemas econômicos e sociais, juntamente com os conteúdos exigidos, são as respostas encontradas para compreendermos o fracasso escolar nesta pesquisa.

The present research searchs to answer on questions about failure pertaining to school of the teaching and the learning of Mathematics in fifth year of fundamental teaching in a Municipal school in Campo Grande/MS. The main objective of this work is to analyze and to diagnosis the failure pertaining to school that occurs in fifth year in Mathematics, through the Methodology of Qualitative research, using as strategy the Study of Case, collecting the data through the comment of the school and by interviewing students that had been disapproved at least once in fifth-grade and continue studying fifth-grade in the researched school, Mathematics professors of the school, students’ parents, direction, supervision and orientation who are part of the pedagogical team of the school. In this work we had been looking for answering the following questions: what it is generating a great index of reprobation in subject Mathematics in fifth-grade? Do the mathematical content, the pertaining to school context, the family and the social and cultural reality contribute to the failure in this subject? The theoretical referential is composed by researches in History of Mathematics, in Mathematical Education and in Psychology. The answers found in this work to understand the scholar failure are: the lack of prerequisites of students in fifth-grade, low self-esteem, the disruption that exists in this grade, the cultural and psychological aspect, the social and economic problems, joined the subject matter required.
