Resumo: Este Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (TCC) visa fomentar a discussão sobre a Educação de Jovens e adultos (EJA), que é uma modalidade de ensino destinada a quem não concluiu.
Abstract: This Course Conclusion Paper (TCC) aims to encourage discussion about Youth and Adult Education (EJA), which is a type of education aimed at those who have not completed, abandoned or accessed formal education at the appropriate age. EJA used to be known as supletivo or suplência and was created by the Ministry of Education with the main aim of promoting social inclusion and access to education for young people and adults. The general aim of the research was to identify the difficulties and possible reasons why EJA students drop out of school, as well as why they return to school. The specific objectives were: i) to get to know the profile of students studying in the EJA; ii) to identify the reasons for leaving school at school age and why they return. The work was carried out in a public school in Naviraí - MS. The research was qualitative and data was collected through semi-structured interviews with an EJA teacher and three students. The work showed us the profile of the students, as well as their difficulties and expectations in relation to returning to school and completing their studies. With the completion of this coursework, we identified that there are improvements and guidelines that need to be reviewed in this modality, so that this stage of study can expand quality service. In this way, we conclude that the EJA modality requires a dynamic and targeted look by the public authorities at the EJA modality, guaranteeing students' permanence and school success.
