Atuação do Primeiro Comando da Capital e Mecanismos de Prevenção e Combate ao Crime Organizado no Brasil

Abstract

This paper deals with the analysis of the First Capital Command, called PCC, which is a criminal organization with a strong performance in Brazil, responsible for various crimes such as drug trafficking, cargo theft, kidnappings, murders, among others, as well as mechanisms for prevention and combat against organized crime in Brazil. Thus, the objective is to discuss the organization of the faction in question, identifying its structural characteristics and defining activities. For this, the essential proposition of this study is to expose the economic, military, and organizational influence exercised by the faction in study. Finally, throughout this research, the mechanisms and normative progression promoted by the State to combat organized crime will be emphasized, as well as suggestions for improvement and analysis of the effectiveness of these legal devices in combating organized crime. In this sense, despite the legislative evolution in relation to the fight against organized crime, such evolution is still very incipient in view of the increase in crime and the strengthening of criminal organizations.
