A educação secundária em Campo Grande-MS: retratos em fontes da historiografia regional e memorialística (1920-1960)

Abstract

This book presents a study on the representation of secondary education in Campo Grande in the period from 1920 to 1960. Its purpose is to contribute to the composition of the regional historiography, by approaching the educational and social development of the city, in the period prior to the division of Mato Grosso. Thick. Memorialistic sources are scrutinized, composed of autobiographical and biographical sources, the representations transmitted by social agents (students and teachers) who experienced the educational process in/of Secondary Education. With the understanding that memorialistic sources are records of memories, historiographical studies produced in the field of education, as well as magazines, newspapers and official documents of the period, are used in the composition of the approaches. The work exposes a historical reading of secondary education, presenting its origin, development and social role within the Brazilian context until the 1960s and in the educational and social development of urbanized cities. Then, it presents studies of regional historiography in the composition of the framework of analysis based on empirical memorialistic productions, composed of autobiographical and biographical sources. Secondary institutions contributed to the constitution of the social and educational history of the city and Mato Grosso do Sul.
