Dinâmica territorial em tempos de hegemonia do capital monopolista: subordinação e resistências

Abstract

This book aims to bring to the public the scientific production carried out within the scope of the Graduate Course in Geography, at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), Campus of Três Lagoas, particularly studies linked to the line “Territorial Dynamics in the City and in the field". The reflections were built by professors and students from their research trajectories with a view to understanding the production and appropriation of territory in contemporary capitalism. The title of the book – Territorial dynamics in times of hegemony of monopoly capital: subordination and resistance – was thought to synthesize the set of chapters and approach the guiding principles of which the texts have the line of research of the Program. The fifteen chapters reveal, on different fronts of investigation, that the intellectual work developed in the context of Graduate Studies provides a look at the diversity of themes that make up the regional reality without losing articulation with the broader totality. The title of the book is an indicator of this intellectual movement that is expressed in the process of thinking about the specific and the general, revealing the important role that the Graduate Program in Geography plays in the context of urban-rural analyses. Fundamental role of geographic science, especially when we think about the social return of the public University.
