Abstract

Cervical Cancer (CCU) is an important public health problem, especially in underdeveloped and developing countries, due to its high incidence and mortality. CC is the fourth most common cancer among women, worldwide there are about 570,000 new cases annually and 311,000 deaths per year, being also the fourth leading cause of cancer death in women. HPV is considered the main accusing agent of CCU, being able to infect the epithelium through direct contact with the skin or mucosa. The main form of infection of HPV is through sexual contact, but it can be transmitted by intimate contact. The HPV vaccine has been distributed by the SUS since 2014, but the numbers of CCU cases and deaths continued to grow. Therefore, it is still necessary to invest in informing about the importance of vaccination against HPV in the fight against cervical cancer with support materials, projects and campaigns to raise awareness among young people and adults. The preparation of this booklet aimed to treat the relationship between HPV and CCU in a clear and objective way, containing illustrative images suitable for the target audience, as well as reliable information, considering the use of language (verbal and illustrative) that effectively addresses the subject. without being boring and uninteresting to read. For the preparation of the booklet, the target audience was defined so that the content and language adjustments are consistent with the age of the students and their respective school year, linking the age of distribution of the free vaccine by the SUS, which is from 9 to 14 years old. , with the contents present in the school years. Based on this premise, the target audience was defined as 13-year-old children in the 8th grade. The booklet will be distributed and disseminated on the internet on social media in digital format and in PDF. To access the booklet, links and QR Codes published on social networks will be used, with the aim of reaching a greater number of young people. Through the elaboration of the booklet "Know about HPV: Understand how your vaccine can prevent cervical cancer", being applied to 13-year-old children belonging to the 8th school year, the objective is to disseminate information regarding HPV infection and its relationship with CCU, to contribute to the formation of informed and aware individuals, resulting in the reduction of the transmission of this virus and consequently collaborating for the reduction of cases/deaths by CCU.
