Vulnerabilidade social e sanitária durante a pandemia: reflexões teóricas

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic brought implications that go beyond biomedical and epidemiological issues, also having repercussions in the social, economic, political, cultural and historical fields, generating a great impact on people's lives, especially those who live in situations of vulnerability. . Even before the pandemic, these vulnerable groups were already experiencing numerous difficulties and with the advent of the pandemic, the situation worsened. It is known that the pandemic has affected the lives of all people, but for those who live in a vulnerable situation, the marks left by the pandemic are deeper. In view of this, the work 'Social and health vulnerability during the COVID-19 pandemic: theoretical reflections' proposes a critical reflection on human rights and access to health for vulnerable groups that include the black population, riverside, homeless, indigenous people, the visually impaired, immigrants and refugees, health professionals, transgender people and favela residents. This book emphasizes the need for concrete actions by the Government to meet the needs of these populations, for social and humanitarian protection policies that respect the health, life and rights of these people.
