Abstract

This book was organized by the team of the Teacher Training Department with the aim of recording and publicizing the extension actions carried out at UFMS in 2018 and 2019 within the scope of the Extension School Board. The planning and execution of the initial idea began in June 2020, when many of the actions previously developed were suspended, given the World Health Organization's recommendation of social isolation, in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19. To the emails sent on different dates, we received 26 responses, which, with the revisions and minor intercurrences that occurred due to the pandemic, resulted in the 17 chapters that were presented, of actions carried out on different Campi, and separated into five thematic axes. When we proposed this project, we had in mind the socialization of the achievements of UFMS researchers, professors and technicians, many in partnership with other institutions, with the greater objective of serving the internal and external community, in addition to establishing the relationship between teaching, research and extension. . Within the scope of university extension, the Pro-Rectory of Extension, Culture and Sport (PROECE) has the mission to “foster a university extension socially relevant and to strengthen the sporting and artistic-cultural practice in the internal scope, all this, guided by academic rigor and the search for excellence”, from the implementation of University Extension as a regular academic practice in the teaching and learning process, as well as encouraging the development of research at UFMS; guaranteeing the democratic participation of the internal community and organized civil society in the discussion and forwarding of extension programs and projects; among other principles and guidelines.
