Transparência e opacidade na realização do sujeito pronominal no português brasileiro

Abstract

O objetivo da presente pesquisa é realizar uma análise da realização/não realização do sujeito pronominal no Português Brasileiro, doravante PB, no que se refere às relações de transparência/opacidade apresentadas por tal fenômeno. Apontaremos de que formas o sujeito vem se realizando ou não no PB bem como o grau de transparência de cada caso analisado. Buscaremos também observar se motivações pragmáticas exercem influência na realização/não realização do sujeito pronominal e se consequentemente interferem na produção de fenômenos mais transparentes e de que forma isso ocorre. A fim de alcançarmos tal objetivo trabalharemos com a noção de sujeito e com a noção de tópico a fim de analisarmos as peculiaridades na omissão/realização do sujeito em nossa língua. Partiremos da hipótese que, por se tratar de uma língua relativamente jovem e por emergir de um sistema repleto de outras línguas, o PB apresentará, quanto ao fenômeno estudado, aspectos mais transparentes que opacos. Esse trabalho justifica-se pela contribuição que buscará dar aos estudos de transparência e opacidade, especialmente porque buscaremos observar a influência de motivações pragmáticas na produção de ocorrências mais transparentes ou opacas no fenômeno analisado. As relações de transparência e opacidade são definidas a partir da arquitetura em vários níveis da Gramática Discursivo-Funcional (HENGEVELD E MACKENZIE, 2008), doravante GDF, e são representadas por meio do mapeamento das unidades em análise em cada um dos quatro Níveis: Interpessoal, Representacional, Morfossintático e Fonológico. Um fenômeno linguístico será transparente entre dois níveis à medida que se representar igualitariamente entre eles, ou seja, possuir uma unidade de identificação em cada nível, o que acarretará uma relação bijetiva. Uma vez que o fenômeno representar-se por uma unidade em um nível e duas ou nenhuma em outro ele apresentará uma relação não-bijetiva, apresentando, portanto, um aspecto de maior opacidade no que tange a este fenômeno na língua em análise. A respeito da noção de tópico discursivo, nos valeremos nos pressupostos da Perspectiva Textual-Interativa (JUBRAN & KOCH, 2006; JUBRAN, 2007) a fim de analisarmos a organização tópica das ocorrências analisadas e de que forma essa organização influenciará na realização/omissão do sujeito pronominal, em seguida observaremos de que forma essa organização tópica se daria de acordo com os parâmetros estabelecidos pela GDF, propondo, portanto, um diálogo entre as duas teorias. O universo de investigação compõe-se de amostras retiradas do banco de dados Iboruna que faz parte do projeto ALIP. Para a realização do estudo e da análise, nosso trabalho está baseado no arcabouço teórico da perspectiva funcionalista (NEVES, 1997; DIK, 1987; BUTLER, 1997, 2003; CUNHA, 2011; PEZATTI, 2006) na qual se insere a GDF ( HENGEVELD E MACKENZIE 2008), perspectiva teórica na qual nos pautamos para a realização das análises em nossa pesquisa e cujo panorama é apresentado no primeiro capítulo. No capítulo seguinte apresentamos o termo transparência em linguística e sua delimitação sob a perspectiva da GDF. No terceiro capítulo apresentaremos os aspectos que norteiam a realização do sujeito pronominal em PB. A metodologia por nós utilizada para a execução das análises é apresentada no quarto capítulo. No quinto capítulo realizaremos a análise dos dados selecionados dentro dos objetivos propostos. Após a análise dos dados pudemos observar que grande parte das realizações do sujeito pronominal em PB apresentam uma relação transparente e observamos que tais relações parecem se mostrar bastante suscetíveis à influência pragmática, o que confirma a hipótese inicial: o PB apresenta aspectos mais transparentes que opacos para a realização/não realização do sujeito pronominal em PB.

ABSTRACT - The aim of this research is to make an analysis of the realization/no-realization of the pronoun subject in Brazilian Portuguese, BP henceforth, in what refers to the transparency/opacity relations presented by this phenomenon. We will show in what ways the subject has been realized or not in BP as well as the transparency degree in each analysed case. We will also observe if pragmatic motivations influence on the realization/no-realization of the pronoun subject and if they, consequently, interfere on the production of more transparent phenomena and how it happens. In order to achieve this aim we will work with the subject and the topic notion so that we can analyse the peculiarities on the omission/realization of the subject in our language. This work is based on the hypothesis that, for being a relatively young language and for emerging from an environment full of other languages, BP will present, concerning the phenomenon being studied, more transparent aspects. This work is justified by the contribution it aims at providing to transparency and opacity studies, especially because we will observe the influence of pragmatic motivations on the production of more transparent or opaque situations on the analysed phenomena. The transparency and opacity are defined from the multi-levelled architecture of the Functional Discourse Grammar,(HENGEVELD & MACKENZIE, 2008), FDG henceforth, and are represented using the mapping of the units analysed in each one of the four Levels: Interpersonal, Representational, Morfossyntatic and Phonological. A linguistic phenomenon will be transparent between two levels as long as it is represented equally in each of them, what means it will have an idetifying unit in each Level, what will result a bijective relation. Once the phenomenon is represented by one unit in one level and two or none in another it will present a non-bijective relation, showing, consequently, a more opaque aspect on this phenomenon on the analysed language. About the discoursive topic, we will base our work on the Textual-Interactive Perspective (JUBRAN & KOCH, 2006; JUBRAN, 2007) in order to analyse the topic organization of the analysed sentences and in what way this organization will influence on the realization/no-realization of the pronoun subject, then we will observe in what way this topic organization would happen according to the principles established by FDG, proposing a dialogue between both theories. The investigation examples are taken from the Iboruna online corpus that is part of the ALIP Project. To develop this study and make this analysis, our work is based on the functionalist perspective of language (NEVES, 1997; DIK, 1987; BUTLER, 1997, 2003; CUNHA, 2011; PEZATTI, 2006) in which FDG takes part ( HENGEVELD &MACKENZIE 2008), theorical perspective in which we are based to make the analysis in our research, theories generally presented on the first chapter. On the next chapter we present the transparency term in linguistic and its aspects and characteristics according to what FDG proposes. On the third chapter we will present the aspects that involve the realization of the pronoun subject in BP. The methodology used is presented on the fourth chapter. On the fifth chapter we will make the selected data analysis based on the presented objectives. After the analysis we could observe that most part of the pronoun subject realizations in BP show a transparent relation and we observe that those relations seem to be very susceptible to the pragmatic influences, what confirms the initial hypothesis: BP presents more transparent than opaque aspects for the pronoun subject realization/no-realization in BP.
