Narrativas, grafemas e escrituras na pintura

Abstract

Narrativas, grafemas e escrituras - discute a presença marcante de elementos da escrita na pintura, apontando para dois sentidos: a necessidade humana de narrar e o aspecto plástico-visual das letras e das palavras. O trabalho apresenta, ainda, uma leitura dessa prática por artistas contemporâneos sul-mato-grossenses, situando-os para além da cena artística local. Os conceitos de texto e de obra de Barthes e as teorias sobre a narrativa de Goodman e Ricoeur constituem o campo teórico de base. Adota-se um ponto de vista historicista para a verificação da origem e permanência dessa prática, concluindo-se, através da análise e comparação de obras de arte, que os elementos da escrita associam-se à pintura ocidental desde a antiguidade e alternam-se entre os diferentes sentidos, num movimento pendular, sempre ligado à presença ou ausência de um caráter narrativo na obra.

Narratives, graphemes ande escriptures in painting - discusses the striking presence of elements of writing in painting, pointing at two directions: the human need to narrate and the plastic-visual aspect of the letters and words. The paper presents in addition, a reading of that pratice by Mato Grosso do Sul contemporary artists placing them beyond the local art scene. The text and work concepts of Barthes and the theories on the narrative of Goodman and Ricoeur constitutes the field of theoretical base. It adopts an historicist point of view for checking the origin and permanence of that practice, concluding itself through the analysis and comparison of works of art, which combine the elements of writing to the painting since ancient western and alternate up between the different senses in a pendulum motion, always linked to the presence or absence of a character in the narrative work.
