| dc.description.abstract | This article analyzes the effectiveness of Law No. 14.611/2023 in combating the gender pay gap in Brazil, considering the influence of cultural and structural factors that impact its practical application. The research is justified by the persistence of the gender pay disparity, even in the face of constitutional and infraconstitutional variations that guarantee equal pay. The study adopts the deductive method, with a qualitative approach and exploratory-descriptive character, using bibliographic and documentary research procedures. The investigation examines the normative evolution of equal pay, the main obstacles to the effectiveness of the law, such as gender stereotypes, occupational segregation, and limitations in state oversight, as well as the first practical impacts of the legislation. As a result, it is found that, although Law No. 14.611/2023 represents a significant advance by establishing mechanisms for transparency and control, its effectiveness still encounters structural and cultural barriers that hinder the full realization of material equality. It can be concluded that overcoming wage inequality requires not only the application of the law, but also the strengthening of oversight and the transformation of historically ingrained sociocultural patterns. | - |
