Resumo: This article analyzes the impact of technological advancement and the expansion of the internet, emphasizing that although this evolution has brought great benefits to society, it has also generated new challenges, such as the increase in digital crimes. The study addresses the concept and classification of cybercrimes, identifying their active and passive subjects, as well as the main offenses committed in the digital environment. Furthermore, it discusses the difficulties faced by legislators due to the rapid pace of technological change and the importance of constantly updating legal norms. Finally, it examines the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) both as a tool used in criminal activities and as an instrument for preventing and combating cybercrimes, highlighting the need to balance technological innovation and legal security.
