FEIRAS LIVRES DE CORUMBÁ - MS: ESPAÇOS DE INTEGRAÇÃO E FRONTEIRAS

Abstract

The present Undergraduate Thesis aims to analyze the street markets of Corumbá, MS, as spaces of sociocultural and economic integration in the border region between Brazil and Bolivia. The research seeks to understand how these popular commercial environments reflect the dynamics of coexistence and exchange between Brazilians and Bolivians, expressing identities and everyday practices characteristic of border zones. The analysis is grounded in works that discuss the relationships, adaptation processes, and sense of belonging of the Bolivian community in Brazilian territory. Through bibliographic review and field observation, conducted by means of interviews and participatory dialogues, the study shows that street markets constitute spaces of integration, cultural resistance, and the strengthening of social relations and borders, revealing the social complexity and relevance of these territories for understanding regional dynamics.
