A DEMOCRATIZAÇÃO DO ACESSO A LINGUAGEM JURÍDICA NO ÂMBITO DOS DIREITOS HUMANOS

Abstract

Legal language, even in the face of widespread access to technology, remains marked by expressions and terms that are not easily understood, thus representing one of the main obstacles to effective access to justice and the development of citizenship. This difficulty becomes even more evident when addressing human rights, as the complexity of legal discourse can alienate precisely those who most depend on the protection of these rights — namely, socially vulnerable groups. In this context, the article undertakes an analysis of the historical trajectory of human rights through their different generations and the beneficial advances they have brought to society as a whole, aiming to highlight the urgent need to make legal language clearer, more inclusive, and closer to people’s lived realities. The research adopts a qualitative approach based on a bibliographic review. Ultimately, it argues that the simplification of legal language is not merely a matter of style but a necessary measure to ensure that the principles of universality and indivisibility of human rights are effectively realized and upheld in contemporary legal practice.
