Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the composition, abundance, and occurrence patterns of anurans in Permanently Protected Areas (PPAs) within the urban context of the municipality of Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul. The methodology consisted of sampling in three city parks, using active search, zoophony, and opportunistic encounter methods. Sampling was conducted during the dry and rainy seasons in 2024. Seventeen species were recorded, distributed across three families, with Leptodactylidae and Hylidae being the most representative. Among the species, Dendropsophus nanus, Boana raniceps, and Leptodactylus macrosternum stood out for their abundance and wide distribution in the study areas, which is attributed to their ecological plasticity, prolonged reproduction, and adaptive strategies. The results indicated that, in urban environments, PPAs can constitute important refuges for local herpetofauna, confirming the importance of these areas in maintaining biodiversity in the face of increasing urbanization.
