A IMPORTÂNCIA DO DESENVOLVIMENTO SUSTENTÁVEL E GERENCIAMENTO DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS DOMICILIARES NO ASSENTAMENTO PIÚVA V EM DOIS IRMÃOS DO BURITI – MS

Abstract

This article aimed to conduct a survey on the knowledge of residents of a rural community with regard to sustainability, sustainable development and the final destination of solid waste and household waste produced by the families of Settlement Piúva V in Dois Irmãos do Buriti – MS. With a theoretical context, the following work addresses the importance of knowledge of sustainability and awareness of correct practices for finalizing solid waste. The study agenda had a qualitative approach to the problem, with the purpose of obtaining more knowledge and deepening of the theme. For data collection, a questionnaire was applied with questions relevant to the presupposed theme. Through the result, it was found that most of the solid waste has an inadequate destination that does not apply the basic standards of prevention of environmental pollution. It also found that families in this rural community do not receive incentives and guidance to carry out the correct handling and disposal of solid waste. According to the families, in relation to an issue, which considers a possible realization of selective collection in the community, they would be willing to practice recycling.
