Variação Lexical do Português Pantaneiro: Um Estudo presente na Novela Pantanal

Abstract

This research delves into the lexical variations present in the dialogue of the main characters of the Pantanal soap opera. It sheds light on both phonological shifts and historical factors influencing these linguistic changes. Notable instances include the use of economically efficient expressions like querimbóra and the incorporation of regional terms such as larga mão. Gender-specific linguistic tendencies were observed, with women employing ARA and men favoring PERFUMOSA. Furthermore, the study identifies the phenomenon of monophthongization, exemplified by the transformation of diphthongs like ou and ei into singular sounds. The distinctive Pantanal dialect manifests in phonemes such as /g/, /j/, and /ch/.
