dc.description.abstractConsidering that mind maps are tools that contribute significantly to the teaching and learning process in the educational context, this research aims to analyze and reflect on the contribution of the use of mind maps in the study of English, supported by the study developed in the school space, from the mind mapping workshop held with the class of students from the 7th, 8th, and 9th years of elementary school II and the 1st year of high school of the Professora Geni Marques Magalhães state school and a lecture held with the teachers and coordinators of the Nova Itamarati State School, located in the municipality of Ponta Porã, state of Mato Grosso do Sul, from the perspective of showing how mind maps can offer a diversity of advantages for the study of English, due to the fact that it is a methodology that offers the liberation of thought, facilitating the process of internalization and memorization due to its efficient mixed structure, which alternates text, images, lines, and colors. The research showed that there are numerous studies demonstrating the importance and contribution of mind maps to the improvement of creativity and decision-making. And, the studies carried out with the two school communities showed that the pedagogical use of mind maps in the teaching and learning process of English, constitutes a strategic benefit to assist in memorization and learning.-
