Stretch marks are long, normally parallel, linear lesions that appear due to the rupture of collagen fibers and skin elasticity due to excessive stretching of the tissue, generally occurring in pregnant women, obese people and adolescents. With the search for these scars, individual forms of treatment emerged to improve the appearance and aesthetics of these injuries. Products containing oils in their formulation with active ingredients that provide nutrition, hydration and tissue regeneration provide good results. Brazil has a diversity of plant species rich in raw materials with high pharmacological power, from which oil products can be extracted for the production of various cosmetics such as microemulsions. The oil from the seeds of pracaxi (Pentaclethra macroloba), a species of plant belonging to the Fabaceae Family, native to the states of Amapá, Pará and Amazonas, contains several fatty acids of cosmetic interest, including behenic, oleic and linoleic acids. Studies have already demonstrated the effects of this oil on the skin, such as moisturizing action, humectant properties, cell renewal, healing and promotion of elasticity. All these benefits are beneficial for treating stretch marks. Based on the properties of this oil, oil-in-water emulsified formulations with different surfactants were developed using pracaxi oil as the oily phase. The ternary phase diagram, the analysis of the emulsified systems and the characterization of the systems obtained macro and microscopically were carried out, in addition to the determination of particle size, zeta potential and polydispersity of the formulations, being chosen as formulations that were thermodynamically more accurate. Keywords: pracaxi; Pentacletra macroloba; stretch marks; emulsions.-
