dc.description.abstractBeginning of the flowering of the white ipês, the photograph was taken at the entrance of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics and in the same photo it is possible to observe some yellow ipês that have lost their flowers. This beautiful Brazilian tree has both its botanical name and the popular one originating from the Tupi-Guarani. "Ipê" means "thick bark tree". The white ipê is the one that has the shortest duration of flowers, being also the one that blooms last among the ipê species. After the white flowers fall, the tree spends a few months until the pods begin to appear, which are the fruits resulting from the pollinated flowers.pt_BR

dc.description.resumoInício da florada dos ipês brancos, a fotografia foi realizada na entrada da Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia e na mesma foto é possível observar alguns ipês amarelos que perderam suas flores. Essa bela árvore brasileira tem tanto o seu nome botânico quando o popular originários do tupi-guarani. "Ipê" significa "árvore de casca grossa". O ipê branco é o que tem o menor período de duração das flores, sendo também o que floresce por último entre as espécies de ipês. Depois das flores brancas caírem, a árvore passa alguns meses até começar a aparecer as vagens, que são os frutos resultantes das flores polinizadas.pt_BR
