dc.description.abstract | Introduction: The Vertical Transmission (VT) of the Hepatitis-C Virus (HCV) is the main form of contamination in children. Goals: This study has as a goal to evaluate the prevalence of Hepatitis-C in pregnant women in the city of Campo Grande (MS); the variable of vertical transmission of the HCV; the variable of vertical of transmission of the HCV in pregnant women co-infected with HIV; evaluate the association between the VT and the adopted delivery way; The influence of the risk factors, the rupture time of the amniotic bag; breastfeeding and the viral charge of the pregnant women. Methods: Observational study, traversal with 31,187 patients with data entered in the SISPRENATAL who presented the "reagent" ELISA and confirmation by PCR for HCV between 2002 and 2005. Results: The prevalence of HCV on the sample was of 0.18% (58/ 31,187). Among the 58 patients only 23 (39.6%) were part of this research and, of those 23 only 3 newborn children were vertically infected by the HCV (13%), while 50% were infected when the mother was co-infected with HIV. There was a statistic significance between the VT and the viral charge with p value of 0,03; and the same significance was not found between the VT and breastfeeding, influence of risk factors, kind if delivery and the rupture time of the water bag. Conclusions: Aim to establish a protocol for prevention of the VT and CV, with similarity to what is already existent for prevention of VT and HIV. | pt_BR |
