Observações antropológicas do corpo feminino negro na obra de artistas campo-grandenses

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the self-representation of the Black female body in the works of Black women artists from Campo Grande/MS. It examines how these women reinvent or reinterpret the representation of their bodies in response to a historically white artistic context that has portrayed them. To achieve this, it is necessary to understand the discriminatory practices perpetuated through representations created by white artists with stereotypical views, which have resulted in the objectification and marginalization of a segment of Brazilian women. Through a detailed anthropological interpretation, the study seeks to understand the aesthetic, symbolic, and narrative strategies employed by Black women artists to retell their history through art, challenging the objectification and marginalization of the Black female body and to construct a new visual narrative that values diversity and affirms individuality. This study aims to contribute to the expansion of knowledge about the resistance and struggle of Black women artists in the state who, through self-representation, use their voices to transform the symbolic aggressions suffered in the past.
