Memórias do Centro de Campo Grande (MS): Uma abordagem antropológica sobre as relações socioculturais interligadas aos espaços físicos

Abstract

This research focuses on sociocultural relations intertwined with physical spaces, using the central region of Campo Grande (MS) as a basis for an anthropological analysis. Physical space strongly influences social behavior and affects the well-being of individuals, both promoting and inhibiting interactions, as well as shaping a sense of identity and belonging. The overall objective was to portray the different categories of understanding that stand out in relation to the reflective undertaking carried out in the studied spatial area, which is the 'Central Core' of the city, including the Municipal Market and Ary Coelho Square. The methodology adopted for the research was the case study. A literature review on the topic was conducted, using books on the construction of collective identity and the correlation between physical spaces and social structures. Semi-structured baseline interviews were also conducted to complement and guide the discussion. The interviews were discussed according to the findings in the literature, using ethnography as a theoretical and methodological guide for conducting this discussion.
