This study investigates the theoretical contours of Cultural Studies in the Brazilian context, considering its influences from the English culturalist tradition and the intersections with the country’s socio-historical characteristics and other bodies of thought. The methodology adopted is data mining, a method that consists of the following steps: conducting a survey of theoretical production and qualitative/quantitative data on the themes discussed in Cultural Studies and their intersection with decolonial theories, and then employing data analysis tools and techniques to identify patterns, trends, and the impact of these theories in the Brazilian context. Cultural Studies represent an interdisciplinary field of knowledge in constant evolution and adaptation to the specificities of each cultural context. In Brazil, these studies have been influenced both by the English culturalist tradition and by the country’s socio-historical characteristics, requiring an in-depth analysis of their theoretical and practical trajectories. Furthermore, the dialogue between Cultural Studies and decolonial theories presents itself as a promising path for addressing issues such as the democratization of society, interculturality, and the resistance of subalternized voices, contributing to the construction of autonomous and decolonized thought and praxis. This project is therefore justified by the need to understand and critically analyze these theoretical movements and their repercussions in the Brazilian context.-
