MERCADO DE TRABALHO E GERAÇÕES: mudanças no comportamento do trabalhador

Abstract

Transformations in the contemporary labor market have been driven by technological innovations, generational changes, and new social demands, which are redefining labor relations, professional identities, and worker behavior. This quantitative and descriptive study analyzes the increase in voluntary resignations in Brazil—specifically in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and in the city of Naviraí—between 2023 and 2025, based on data from Caged and the Ministry of Labor and Employment. The results indicate growing precarization and fragmentation of employment relationships, associated with flexibilization, instability, and new forms of subjective control. In addition, the study highlights the complex generational coexistence in the workplace, where differing values among Baby Boomers, Generation X, Y, and Z create challenges for people management and for balancing productivity and quality of life.
