This study analyzes occupational dermatoses among healthcare professionals who worked on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the impacts of prolonged use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as masks, gloves, and face shields. Using a scope review with online data collection, factors contributing to the increased prevalence of dermatological conditions in these workers were identified. Among these factors are the intensified hand hygiene, constant contact with irritants present in PPE, prolonged use, continuous friction, as well as the moisture and heat generated by these equipment. These conditions resulted in problems such as contact dermatitis, lesions, and skin irritations. The results show that improper or excessive use of PPE, combined with gaps in occupational health policies, led to significant skin injuries. These injuries not only affected the professionals' quality of life but also impaired their performance and increased the risks of contamination, threatening their physical and mental health. This scenario directly impacted the continuity of work and safety in the hospital environment. The study reinforces the urgent need to develop more comprehensive biosafety protocols, which include specific guidelines on PPE use, as well as preventive strategies such as the introduction of less irritating materials and skincare practices. Investing in better working conditions is essential to protect healthcare professionals and ensure quality care during health crises, while also safeguarding the well-being of these essential workers in the fight against the pandemic.-
