Abstract

This study investigates cultural and linguistic variations by analyzing the phonological parameters of sign language in three countries: Brazil, the United States, and the United Kingdom. It analyzes the differences and impact of these variations on Deaf communities, drawing on Willian Stokoe's and Lucinda Ferreira's research on sign language grammar. The objective is to understand the nuances of sign language interpretation and the challenges faced in interpreter training across different cultural contexts. Using a qualitative approach, the research explores Deaf inclusion through a literature review focused on 2016-2023. It also examines educational practices for interpreter training and the relevance of linguistic and cultural variations in building a more inclusive society. The findings contribute to the development of more skilled and culturally sensitive professionals in language studies, offering a global perspective on the cultural issues related to sign language interpretation.
