Abstract

Health Information Systems (HIS) are essential for collecting, processing, and analyzing data in healthcare services, facilitating medical decision-making and public policies. This study aims to analyze and document the evolution of Health Information Systems used in hospital data management. The research was conducted through a bibliographic review, enabling the identification, analysis, and interpretation of data addressing the evolution of HIS and their implementation in the healthcare sector. The results show significant progress in HIS, from manual records to integrated hospital management systems. Continuous technological innovation and the development of appropriate policies are crucial to overcoming existing challenges and ensuring efficiency and security in health data management.
