Slavery in Brazil was a historical milestone that left lasting marks on the country's relationship with Black people, particularly in the differentiated treatment of Black women and men compared to the white population. These disparities are the result of cruelties cultivated during the slavery period. Gender and racial violence also persist in the education system, including within universities. The aim of this research is to analyze the academic trajectories of Black female professors in higher education institutions, superior when discussing the issues of gender, the right to voice and duty of faculty, race, and equity. A narrative literature review was conducted based on selected articles from the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Psychology Journals (PePSIC), and the Scientific Information System (Redalyc), covering the period from 2010 to 2023. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, four articles were selected. A second reading and content analysis led to the identification of ten categories, which were synthesized into five core themes: cultural consequences of race and gender, the work of Black female academics, working conditions, ruptures of cultural legacies, and coping strategies. The discussion reveals that Black women are culturally directed toward domestic and caregiving roles, and when race is considered, they are often found in jobs with lower social prestige. Therefore, Black female faculty, who occupy spaces contrary to the societal norm, highlight the importance of their presence in universities as a way to inspire and strengthen the academic paths of those who aspire to follow in their footsteps.-
