Abstract

This study analyzes the impacts of the Bolivia-Brazil pipeline on municipalities in Mato Grosso do Sul, focusing on the division between the Red and Blue Clusters. The Red Cluster, marked by a high concentration of indigenous populations and deficiencies in basic sanitation and education, contrasts with the Blue Cluster, which includes municipalities with better infrastructure and literacy indicators. Through the analysis of socioeconomic data, the study highlights how large infrastructure projects can either reinforce regional inequalities or act as development catalysts, depending on inclusive public policies and planning. Despite limitations related to outdated data and a panoramic approach, the research provides a foundation for future investigations into the challenges and opportunities associated with the pipeline.
