This study is the result of an investigation into the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the literacy process of 4th and 5th grade students at a public school in Naviraí-MS. The general objective was to analyze how this process took place in the post-pandemic context. Specifically, we sought to: i) identify the students' main reading and writing difficulties, considering the effects of the pandemic; ii) analyze the strategies for recovery and adaptation to the students' needs. The research was qualitative and we used two semi-structured interviews as data collection tools, one with a 4th grade teacher and one with a 5th grade teacher, which took place in April 2025. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed in order to understand the teachers' perceptions of the challenges they face and the strategies they use with students to minimize learning problems. The teachers' reports indicate persistent difficulties in reading and writing, remnants of the pandemic period. The results highlight the urgent need for pedagogical support measures and teacher training in order to mitigate the effects of school interruption during the pandemic and promote learning recovery.-
