      <title>Arquitetura Urgente</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.ufms.br/handle/123456789/14395</link>
      <description>Título: Arquitetura Urgente
Abstract: The objective of the book is to present relevant topics, particularly those related to architectural design and its tools for transforming the built environment. It will serve as a day-to-day classroom tool, aiming to contribute to the continuous development of architecture, which will not be achieved by us, but by our students and their students. The book is divided into four chapters, organized into lecture notes: the first chapter addresses Graphic and Plastic Representation. The second chapter covers the history of architecture, encompassing historical movements, cultural influences, contemporary trends, and the preservation of cultural and architectural heritage.&#xD;
The third chapter is dedicated to architectural design, including Morphology, scales of action, and the issue of architecture related to climate change. Finally, the fourth chapter discusses technological aspects and the creative process from conception to execution, project support, environmental comfort and sustainability, and new structures already in use in Brazil and around the world. In addition to technical and regulatory issues, such as construction materials, sustainability, and energy efficiency, which are fundamental aspects for undergraduate courses in architecture and urbanism.&#xD;
Each chapter will be structured into individual lessons, which can be used independently, offering a balance between theory and practice, aiming to equip students with critical and creative thinking skills essential for professional practice in the field of architecture.&#xD;
Lastly, this book proposal represents the natural continuation of "Notas de Aula: Urbanismo," published by UFMS Press in 2020, and invites the reader on a more in-depth journey, now focused on Architecture. Both works are part of an editorial project aimed at promoting research and debate on topics relevant to society.

      <title>Produção Pantaneira com Sustentabilidade, Conservação e Desempenho</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.ufms.br/handle/123456789/14386</link>
      <description>Título: Produção Pantaneira com Sustentabilidade, Conservação e Desempenho
Abstract: The livestock production in the Pantanal must be carried out sustainably, promoting biodiversity conservation and economic performance. The objective of this work is to stimulate the protection of the rich biodiversity of the Pantanal through practices that integrate livestock farming with environmental conservation. This includes the restoration of water sources and the implementation of ecological corridors, which are essential for balancing economic production with the preservation of natural habitats. During the phases of breeding, rearing, and finishing, it is crucial to consider the relationship between wild and domestic animals, ensuring that adopted practices respect and protect local ecosystems. The movement of cattle between highland areas and the Pantanal according to seasonal changes is an important strategy for maximizing weight gain while minimizing risks associated with flooding. Additionally, proper management of cows before descending to the Pantanal, selecting those for calving in July or August, ensures that calves are ready to accompany their mothers during the return to the plateau. Implementing these practices not only contributes to herd health but also promotes the resilience of Pantanal ecosystems.

      <title>As Independências do Brasil: um estado e uma nação em formação</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.ufms.br/handle/123456789/14367</link>
      <description>Título: As Independências do Brasil: um estado e uma nação em formação
Abstract: The collection was conceived out of the need to bring together a set of works that analyse the Brazilian independence processes and the formation of the State and Nation. Over the course of 202 years, various national projects and historical narratives, marked by assertions and silences, have been developed. The collection covers both the national and international contexts of Brazil's Independence, as well as the periods of intense historiographical debate surrounding the centenary in 1922, the sesquicentennial in 1972, and the bicentennial in 2022. The analysis of national commemorations reveals how these moments are opportune for evaluating the past and the present, while also projecting future perspectives. The chapters offer valuable contributions by exploring different regions of Brazil, as well as the national and international contexts, and by analysing conceptual shifts and changes. The authors address a wide range of topics, from the international recognition of Independence to the relationship between Independence and the abolition of the slave trade, including the role of museums in preserving memory and the evolution of public education in Brazil. The contributions are interdisciplinary, addressing diplomatic, political, cultural, and educational issues. The collection serves to challenge accepted interpretations and to encourage new debates and research on Independence, the Empire, and contemporary Brazil, thereby contributing to the advancement of academic production on these topics at both national and international levels.
