    <link>https://repositorio.ufms.br/handle/123456789/14367</link>
Abstract: The collection was conceived out of the need to bring together a set of works that analyse the Brazilian independence processes and the formation of the State and Nation. Over the course of 202 years, various national projects and historical narratives, marked by assertions and silences, have been developed. The collection covers both the national and international contexts of Brazil's Independence, as well as the periods of intense historiographical debate surrounding the centenary in 1922, the sesquicentennial in 1972, and the bicentennial in 2022. The analysis of national commemorations reveals how these moments are opportune for evaluating the past and the present, while also projecting future perspectives. The chapters offer valuable contributions by exploring different regions of Brazil, as well as the national and international contexts, and by analysing conceptual shifts and changes. The authors address a wide range of topics, from the international recognition of Independence to the relationship between Independence and the abolition of the slave trade, including the role of museums in preserving memory and the evolution of public education in Brazil. The contributions are interdisciplinary, addressing diplomatic, political, cultural, and educational issues. The collection serves to challenge accepted interpretations and to encourage new debates and research on Independence, the Empire, and contemporary Brazil, thereby contributing to the advancement of academic production on these topics at both national and international levels.

    <link>https://repositorio.ufms.br/handle/123456789/14362</link>
Abstract: What we call “Essays on Tectonics and Monument Design” is the result of a teaching experience combined with research that allows us to advance in nuances that are little dealt with in more general bibliographies, which is why we consider it more appropriate to call these writings essays. Chapter 1, “The tectonics of the domes of the Pantheon in Rome and St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican”, presents the notion of tectonics as discussed by various authors and takes a historical look at the written sources on the Pantheon. The dome of St. Peter's Basilica is discussed in order to establish the methodological sense of understanding that innovative architecture dialogues with the lessons of the past. The last two chapters highlight the importance of technical opinions, which are generally seen as minor literature, but which have become historical documents in which technical-professional knowledge has become a greater expression of culture: Chapter 2, entitled “Bramante's interpretation of the language and construction of the Duomo of Milan” and Chapter 3, entitled “The theme of restoration in the work of the conservator Alöis Riegl”.

    <link>https://repositorio.ufms.br/handle/123456789/14361</link>
Abstract: This book presents the Lilith myth in the works of the doctor Moacyr Scliar (1937-2011), a writer recognized four times with the “Jabuti Prize for Literature”. It is an unprecedented research, which recalls Lilith's trajectory in Western culture and the insertion of this in the literary works of the writer from Rio Grande do Sul, known for highlighting female protagonism in his texts. To demonstrate Lilith's presence in Scliar's texts, it will be necessary to evoke excerpts from the plot of the award-winning novels The Money Marketers of the Temple (2006) and Manual of the Solitary Passion (2008). This book is illustrated by paintings that allude to Lilith, outlining the feminism that comes from her omnipresence in the arts.

    <link>https://repositorio.ufms.br/handle/123456789/14347</link>
Abstract: he memory workshop - “MemorIDADE” - consists of a university extension project, linked to the Institutional Program of the Open University for the Elderly – UnAPI/UFMS, whose proposal aims to carry out cognitive and psychosocial stimulation activities for the elderly, with a view to contributing for active and healthy aging and the valorization and social redefinition of this population. In 2024, it completed six years of working with the elderly population, contributing both to the academic training of several medical students and to the preservation/improvement of the cognitive and functional capacity of hundreds of elderly people. It is worth highlighting that this theoretical-practical systematization presented in the form of experience reports sought to bring extensionists closer to scientific writing, bringing their perspectives from a workshop meeting, allowing the exercise of articulation with the theoretical knowledge studied and criticism of practices/interventions developed.
